A still pond reflecting a warm sunrise with a single leaf drifting on gentle ripples

Neiye — Nineteen lessons in inward training

This is your quiet corner. Nineteen short lessons from Neiye 內業 meet you where you are. They help settle the heart and gather the breath. Each one closes with a five-minute practice you can take into your body.

“Returning is the motion of the Way. Yielding is the use of the Way.”

The nineteen lessons

Your map of inward refinement.

Each lesson meets you with a Daoist teaching. These are drawn from the Daodejing 道德經 (the classic of the Way and Its Power), the Neiye 內業 (an early Daoist text, embedded in the Guanzi anthology and likely older than the received Daodejing, on cultivating the vital essence by settling the heart and aligning the body), the Zhuangzi 莊子 (playful parables on perspective), the Secret of the Golden Flower (a manual on turning awareness inward), and the Taiji Classics 太極拳論 (Wang Zongyue and the Yang-family Ten Essentials — the same teaching brought down into posture, breath, and contact). Each lesson pairs a teaching with a short practice you can sit with. Move through them in order, or follow whichever thread is calling you today.
